At Black Girls CODE we host community oriented "girls only" hackathons for girls between the ages of 12 - 17 which allow students to participate in creating solutions to social issues within their communities while they build their skills, confidence, experience and have lots of fun! During a hackathon our girls come together to solve problems by building apps/games/tools centered around a selected theme. Our tech divas bring their passion, skills and experience to these 2-3 days of structured creative activities. Our guided hackathons for youth are education focused and expose them to the software development process, encourage teamwork and reinforce their creativity as young people. http://www.blackgirlscode.com/bgc-hackathons.html
