Describe the Activity:
It’s a unique, hands-on activity that teaches collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, and entrepreneurship, as well as STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) skills and coding. It builds on students’ excitement about technology and aims to equip them with skills they need to succeed in the jobs of the future.
How to Participate:
1. Gather your team.
2. Complete the registration, authorization, and release forms.
3. Read the rules.
4. Identify a problem in your community that you want to solve.
5. Develop your app concept. 6. Create your submission.
Projects takes months to a year to complete
No cost to submit.
Middle school and high school students in teams.
Best in State winners get an Android tablet and $5,000 for their school to enhance STEM education. Best in Nation and Fan Favorite winners get $15,00 for certain uses, training from the MIT App Inventor Group to build and publish their app, and an all-expenses paid trip to the national TSA conference for each team member and a parent/guardian.
