SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student to excel. SkillsUSA is a national organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health occupations and for further education. SkillsUSA was formerly known as VICA (the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America).
A career and technology based education will help students be more than just average. Career and technology education can give students what’s needed to succeed for life: technical skills, academic skills and employability skills. In addition, career and technical education helps students see how what they’re learning applies to the needs of employers.
Regardless of whether students are headed for college or the workforce, SkillsUSA will help them prepare for the future. In fact, college-bound students can get job experiences to help define career plans, identify an appropriate course of study, and help pay for tuition.
